MISSION STATEMENT FROM THE ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COMMITTEE:

The Adult Religious Education Committee fosters a feeling of congregational community through groups and activities which stimulate, encourage, and challenge our mutual intellectual, ethical, emotional and spiritual growth.

FROM OUR DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Greetings, fellow learners,

As Unitarian Universalists, with our emphasis on honoring each individual’s search for truth and meaning in community and our understanding that revelation is not sealed but ongoing, we know that learning is life-long, that one does not arrive at “the answers” and then sit around and wait for others to “get it.” We deepen and grow as religious and spiritual beings throughout our lives, and we learn best in community.

Adult religious education at this church takes many forms—covenant groups, movie nights, workshops, weekend retreats—but the goal of all of these gatherings is to be more whole, to connect with fellow learners, and to live out of our deepest values as ethical and spiritual people.

I hope you feel excited by something that you find here in this prospectus, that you find a group that looks like just the group for you or an offering that feels like just the right thing at the right time in your life. I urge you to take the plunge and find a place for yourself in adult religious education at this church. If you have any questions or if you are not seeing what you were looking for among these pages, I would love to meet and talk with you. May we work and play together to build a nurturing, challenging, loving Learning Community for all.

In faithful partnership,

Tandy
