Anne Breier Parks-Johnson, a long-time member of ORUUC, passed away March 29, 2026 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge following a period of failing health. A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. in the Hearth Room at Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church.
Anne Breier Parks was born January 12, 1935 in Johnson City, Tennessee, the daughter of Helen Breier Parks and Charles Lane Parks.
Anne traveled the nation and the world in educational and pleasure pursuits. She obtained two Master’s degrees and a law degree. Her thirst for adventure and exploration continued for the duration of her life.
Anne was a strong advocate for the Democratic party and the Unitarian Universalist Church in Oak Ridge, which became her forever home. As those in the community welcomed her, she in turn did so as well.
Anne is survived by her daughters Helen Webb, Margaret Webb, and Sarah Lindemann, along with great grandchildren Angel, Andrew, Gavin, Eric and Lars Pitman.
When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile
Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile
Mrs. Lyman Hancock
