The Share-the-Plate offering recipient for the month of November is the Tennessee Out-Reach Center for Homeless (TORCH). TORCH was founded in 2012 to assist those in Anderson County who have recently lost their housing and have nowhere else to go. TORCH is a small organization–the only one of its kind in Anderson County. Demand for their assistance is very high. ORUUC has partnered with TORCH the last two winters to host a Warming Shelter in our building during the coldest days and nights. Each winter, TORCH spends a significant amount to help families with children, disabled, and sick folks in other ways. After the service, you’re invited to enjoy coffee and conversation in the Social Hall. Masks are not required in the building; however, they are available, along with hand sanitizer, in various locations throughout the church.
