2026-27 Youth Faith Formation CAlendar
Trunk or Treat is held annually on the Sunday before Halloween after morning worship and Faith Formation hour at ORUUC. Everyone is invited to wear their costume to church and participate in the Costume Parade during the service. Members and friends decorate their vehicles, hand out treats, and enter their favorite chili recipe in the annual Chili Cookoff!
August 1 - Leadership Training
August 2 - Parent Meeting for Youth Faith Formation (11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Childcare provided.)
August 9 - First Day of Youth Faith Formation
September 18 - Fall Rummage Sale Preview 6-8 p.m. (Prices doubled) High School Youth are invited to volunteer during Rummage Week to raise funds for the youth trip.
September 19 - Fall Rummage Sale 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (Prices as marked)
September 27, October 4 and 11 - Fall Break (Multi-age Faith Formation hour; No Youth classes or nursery second hour while Oak Ridge Schools are on Fall Break.)
October 11 - Secret City Pride Fest at ORUUC 12 - 4 p.m. https://secretcitypride.com/

December 6 or 13 - Congregational Meeting at 11:15 a.m. (Kids Craft Party 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. or until the meeting adjourns). The meeting will be followed by a potluck, then a Christmas Tree lighting in the lobby at 1 p.m. Bring a dish to share, and an ornament to hang on the tree!
December 12 - Oak Ridge Holiday Parade 6 p.m.
December 22 - Winter Solstice Service 7 p.m.
December 24 - Christmas Eve Service and No-Rehearse Pageant
December 20 and 27 - Oak Ridge Schools Winter Break. No Youth classes or nursery second hour.
February 14 - Stewardship Kickoff Celebration-- 11:15 a.m. - 1p.m.
Tentative - February 20 - Cultural Visit. This is a Multigenerational activity—all ages welcome!

March 28 - Easter! Egg Hunt 12:15-12:45 p.m. Bring coins to donate to fill the eggs that will be divided amongst ORUUC’s Share the Plate recipients following the egg hunt.
April 25 - Child Dedication and Youth Faith Formation Leader Recognition during Worship
May 2 - Flower Communion and Spring Picnic
TBD - Last Day Youth Faith Formation! YFF staff will lead a Stepping Up (recognition of those moving to a new group) and Closing Ceremony. Have a great summer!
