Join us this Sunday for our June worship series, Freedom. Our minister, Lóre Stevens, will lead worship and share a sermon entitled, “Liberation Theocracy”.
Faith values are more entwined with American politics than ever before, for better or worse. What kind of active citizenship do our UU values call us towards?
To attend by Zoom, please install the Zoom app on your device and use Meeting ID: 890 7958 2989. We will begin admitting guests at 9:45 a.m.
Please email or text Prayer Requests to: joysandsorrows@oruuc.org.
The Share-the-Plate recipient for June is Together Podemos. Their mission is to bridge the gap in access to education and resources within the Hispanic community. The group strives to create opportunities for personal and professional development, fostering a thriving and empowered community. Together Podemos is a fairly new organization that works closely with Anderson County Family Justice Center and other local organizations. For more information, visit https://www.togetherpodemostn.org/. Please give here: https://onrealm.org/oruuc/-/form/give/now as you are willing and able, or text “ORUUC” to 73256.
After the service, please stay for our Congregational Meeting in person in the church Sanctuary and on Zoom. Church members will hear reports from various groups and officers, and vote on the upcoming church year budget, nominations to boards and committees, and more. Youth Faith Formation classes are on summer break until August 10. Adult Faith Formation classes are canceled today; they normally take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Find out more about our regular Faith Formation opportunities for adults here: http://www.oruuc.org/faith-formation-for-adults and children and youth here: http://www.oruuc.org/religious-education. The nursery is available only during worship in summer.
Masks are not required in the building; however, they are available, along with hand sanitizer, in various locations throughout the church. We encourage you to assess your personal risks and do what makes you feel comfortable, whether that means wearing a mask or worshiping with ORUUC from home on Zoom. We ask that if you have symptoms or have had a COVID exposure, please stay home and join us on Zoom. For more information on Covid, visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html. We appreciate your continued cooperation as we work to keep our community safe and healthy.
All are welcome! We look forward to seeing you!
