Sunday Morning Worship: Flower Communion

  • Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN, 37830 United States (map)

Join us this Sunday for our June worship series, Freedom. Our minister, Lóre Stevens, will lead worship and our annual Flower Communion.

We celebrate diversity and mutual flourishing with our Unitarian Universalist Flower Communion! We'll also be welcoming in some new members. Bring a flower or two to add to the bouquet!

To attend by Zoom, please install the Zoom app on your device and use Meeting ID: 890 7958 2989. We will begin admitting guests at 9:45 a.m.

Please email or text Prayer Requests to: joysandsorrows@oruuc.org.

The Share-the-Plate recipient for June is Together Podemos. Their mission is to bridge the gap in access to education and resources within the Hispanic community. The group strives to create opportunities for personal and professional development, fostering a thriving and empowered community. Together Podemos is a fairly new organization that works closely with Anderson County Family Justice Center and other local organizations. For more information, visit https://www.togetherpodemostn.org/. Please give here: https://onrealm.org/oruuc/-/form/give/now as you are willing and able, or text “ORUUC” to 73256.

After the service, you're invited to join in coffee and conversation in the Social Hall. Youth Faith Formation classes are on summer break until August 10. Adult Faith Formation classes take place from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Check out a Zentangle or Yoga class, Reflections, or a Church Budget Q&A Session in advance of next week's Congregational Meeting. Come to church early at 8:30 a.m. for Eggs & Pegs, a breakfast cribbage meetup! All are welcome! Find out more about our regular Faith Formation opportunities for adults here: http://www.oruuc.org/faith-formation-for-adults and children and youth here: http://www.oruuc.org/religious-education. The nursery is available only during worship in summer.

Masks are not required in the building; however, they are available, along with hand sanitizer, in various locations throughout the church. We encourage you to assess your personal risks and do what makes you feel comfortable, whether that means wearing a mask or worshiping with ORUUC from home on Zoom. We ask that if you have symptoms or have had a COVID exposure, please stay home and join us on Zoom. For more information on Covid, visit the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html. We appreciate your continued cooperation as we work to keep our community safe and healthy.

All are welcome! We look forward to seeing you!
